Sometimes life goes too fast for many of us. While some of us enjoy the pace, others tend to struggle just to keep up. The fast-paced lifestyle can show on a person’s face after a while. Unless they are going for the rugged look, this can be unattractive and make a person appear older than what they really are. When this happens, many look into things such as aging anti-creams.
Also known as anti-aging creams, although these and other over-the-counter methods have been around for years, there are still some misconceptions as to their purpose. Many think, or are led to believe by advertisements, that these creams can reverse the aging process. This is untrue. The purpose of these creams is mostly to hydrate the skin, giving it a smoother appearance.
Things such as stress, smoking, smog exposure, extreme tanning, lack of rest or drinking coffee and alcohol tend to affect the skin over a period of time. The results are dry skin that has a tendency to crack, have a rough texture and possible premature aging. While drinking water is a good way to naturally hydrate the skin, it rarely counteracts the elements that can cause skin damage.
While there is no over-the-counter product that can erase or reverse the years, aging anti-creams costs less and have less severe results than surgical procedures, which require repeat visits that do not guarantee the same results. Certain celebrities or personalities are known for having “animated” or unnatural facial features that may be due to having surgery performed on their face. These may be reversed but can be expensive, painful and come with side effects due to medication.
Though it is rare that anti-aging creams may bring negative side effects, there is no one that has been proven to bring the illusions of having younger-looking skin, regardless of how much the costs. However, it is safe to say the least expensive creams may produce minimal results. For example, there is a television commercial that features a very popular fashion model from about twenty years ago who, has unbelievably smooth skin that came in a little bottle that anyone can get at their local drug store.
If a person just wants to hydrate their skin so that it feels better to the touch, they can use anti-aging creams or just a really good moisturizer. It also helps to keep alcohol and coffee consumption to a minimum, stop or cut back on smoking and get plenty of rest.
