Incredible attention is given to "Anti-aging". Every person now alive is getting older. Nobody seems to notice it until the age of 45, when the countdown begins. Millions of dollars are spent each year to pretend that they do not have a year extra for their birthday. Cosmetic surgery, laser treatments, creams and medications are consumed in large quantities, all to rejuvenate a person. Instead of enjoying every moment of precious life we have, lives are wasted looking for a fake facade of youth. What happened to grandma and grandfather sitting in rocking chairs on the porch, sitting in silence to relax?
Our society has changed so much that I doubt that there are many porches safe enough to go out and sit in a rocker. We have been led to believe that every minute of every day must be spent to do something constructive, otherwise we lose our life. Most people live alone at retirement age, whether through divorce, sickness or death. The retirement was postponed years after the retirement age of 65, not because people want to work, but for their survival. Money put aside for retirement has been used by exorbitant medical bills, the cost of prescription drugs or the high cost of mere survival. Homeowners have lost their homes and their entire life savings to pay for living expenses or hospitalization expenses. It is not uncommon to find a retired teacher or a small business owner working as a cashier at Walmart. When he is not working, this "should be" a retired person, taking care of children for his grandchildren. Safe day care costs exceed the amount of money that can be earned through employment, which means keeping child care "in-house". Children are left in a locked car for several hours while a young mother works at night. Children are left with a boyfriend who may or may not leave home while he is supposed to take care of children. Children are left with neighbors, friends or other people so that a parent can go to work. Do you think these kids are getting a home-cooked meal or a trip to McDonald's? Is it surprising that children grow up sick and become fat? These children become sick, fat and stressed adults. This cycle is perpetuated and aggravated from generation to generation.
How did we come to this crisis, at the edge of a cliff of poor health, for so many people? The biggest activity in the United States today is that of pharmaceuticals. The next one online concerns the quasi correctives related to the health; hospitals, emergency care and walking facilities, assisted living centers, medical tests of all kinds, including blood tests, MRI, CT scans, X-rays and # 39; s ECG.
In the past 15 years, no health care provider has heard the word "treatment". An appointment is scheduled for the next assessment, procedure or test. When does someone take responsibility for "making a decision"? In this ridiculous period of specialization, the foot requires a specialist different from the toe, calf, knee, thigh or hip. Among all these problems, a patient may also meet a blood specialist, an oncologist, a bone specialist, a skin specialist, and so on. This is the basis of the problem. One (1) patient will likely have five (5) different physicians prescribing several different, competing or overlapping medications. When a drug is not effective and one or the other of these doctors prescribes a different medication, the medical records are not updated to reflect this information. In reality, it is often found that a patient is taking interrupted medications as well as current medications, usually generic, so that he's not even aware that there are medications two fold.
If a patient has the courage to doubt the need for a test or medication prescribed by his doctor, the latter is likely to send you a letter of termination as a patient, with language similar to "our medical practice does not feel that we can actually treat you since you refused to cooperate with our recommendations, so you will have to arrange for your medical records to be transferred to another doctor. " OMG.
At age 65, starting in Medicare and at a new doctor because your current doctor does not belong to your insurance network, and 3 doctors later, you finally realize that resisting any test requested by the doctor may end badly, c. you will receive another letter … So you are officially sucked into the medical quagmire that now defines your existence. From doctor's offices, tests on endless tests, blood tests to the point where you believe that they should pay you for all these withdrawals, 15 different drugs leaving you mostly drugged and nauseated. You plan to retire by playing the catwalk with the "girls" or having lunch with friends. You can technically be alive but it's debatable. Clearly, you have no quality of life. You do not enjoy your life. You feel bad and everyone around you knows it!
If you want to enjoy the rest of your life. take responsibility by taking charge of your health. It's not too late to make decisions that will change your life and enjoy aging. Nobody is more concerned about your health than you. Talk to your friends. To ask questions. Read articles on what you can do to improve your health.
