The 2468 Diet deals with the number of calories you eat per day. The idea is quite simple, but there is a need for you to do the math to get a hang of this program. The program actually takes just five days to complete.
For day 1, you should only consume no more than 200 calories; day 2, no more than 400 calories; day 3, no more than 600 calories; day 4, no more than 800 calories; and day 5, back to no more than 200 calories. However, some dieters usually alter this by consuming no more than 1,000 calories on day 1, and so on and so forth. The original plan, however, is just 2,468 calories. There are no other rules to follow with this diet except the suggested amount of calorie intake per day. The math is strict though; you should not go over or go far below than what is permitted.
The extreme comes when you think that you have to be very careful with what you eat. For example, a 200-calorie day will only allow you to eat a salad, a piece of broiled chicken, and a couple of fruits for the given day. The truth is that this diet was made for anorexic people at first. Therefore, it is not really a diet for losing weight the healthy way. To get the nutrients that the body needs, one should have a normal calorie intake which differs from person to person. If the needed nutrients are not consumed, then healthy organs are at stake. Your skin, hair, eyes, nails, and other parts of your body will suffer eventually.
If you pursue this diet, you will surely lose weight. The drawback is that the consequences are great. Once over, you will go back to eating the same way you used to, and so you will gain weight sooner than you expected. It’s all up to you to decide whether or not this diet is a scam. However, if you want to be safe when trying to lose weight, all you have to do is go with the classics: eat right, live right, drink plenty of water, and exercise.
